China (Shanghai, Jiang Nan)

China (Shanghai - Zhouzhuang - Suzhou -  Nanjing - Wuxi - Hangzhou)
In the schedule below, summarized my travel experience of the various places i visited in China. Been able to see different places with different layouts and people. I also managed to taste a variety of local delicacy. At the first place, i was not used to the flavour of the dishes there but eventually altered to suit as the stays prolonged. One thing i found hard was the communication. I was english educated and was not fluent with Mandarin therefore, it was hard to communicate with the people there. Nevertheless, most of the tourist destination have translation given or the workers are able to communicate in basic english. Another thing is that, certain places are not very hygenic, but most of the tourist attraction places are. So there wont be the need to worry so much about that.

Japan (Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Kobe and Kansai)

Japan (Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Kobe and Kansai)

This is another post with regard to Japan and the various cities such as Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Kobe and Kansai. This is another journey which I have indulged in. This was during Spring. We travelled by air to Nagoya airport and later check into our hotel, the Royal Park Inn Nagoya.

Our first destination was Mount Fuji which is the symbol of Japan, due to the weather condition and safety reason, our coach was allowed to drive up only to the 1st station. Therefore we were enable to have a magnificent view of Mt. Fuji as it was covered by thick cloud. We move on  to another surrounding area where we can do our shopping on some local Japanese products and souvenirs. After that, visit Fuji Hakone Peach Park which is completed with Japanese-style garden, great Peace Pagoda and Golden Buddha, which is another  famous spot for viewing Sakura  (cherry blossom) and Mt Fuji. Visited the Owakudani Volcano Valley,  it is a famous volcanic area with its plums of sulfurous steam gushing from the ground, we can have a taste of the famous Japanese “Black Shell Eggs” boiled in the sulfurous hot spring water believe to lengthens our life if we take it. We bought a pack of 6 and hopefully after digested,  we are warrantied to live few  more years longer than what is was fated. This was the belief of the people there. Next, I managed to visit the Oshino Hakkai as a last destination for the day. It is whereby 8 springs pools gush forth, fed by currents that flow from Mount Fuji. Thereafter, we have our dinner and proceed to visit Nagoya Italian Village. We went back to our hotel quite late as we need to walk quite a distance as our coach could not  reach to the Hotel Front.

The next day, we went to Kyoto, an ancient and cultural city of  Japan, a living  museum and artistic heritage. We visited one of the world cultural heritage the Kiyomizu Temple (rise from Higashiyama Hill) founded in 798 AD, the temple is dedicated to Juichi-men, the 11 headed Kannon (Goddess of Mercy). The main hall is the major attraction with its broad wooden veranda which juts out over a wooden canyon, well known as “the stage of Kiyomizu” supported at height of 15 metres by 139 pillars.Later we visited the Helan Shrine, which was constructed for the 1100th anniversary of the founding of Kyoto in 1892.The shrine was surrounded with ponds of water lilies. It was indeed a peaceful and beautiful sight. I then got to experience the  world-famous and speedy Shinkansen (Bullet Train). I must say, the trains are incredibly punctual!

Helan Shrine
Shinkansen
The next early morning we transfered to Keihan Universal Hotel in Osaka which is only a walking distance to the Universal Studio. We went to the Universal Studio Themed Parks (USJ)  and have ourselves thrilled with Universal Studio’s motion picture magic from Shrek’s 4D Adventure, Moster Rock, Wicked, Sesame Street 4D Movie Magic, 3D Terminator 2, Water World “Live” show and Backdraft where we feel and experience the burning fury as an explosive 5 alarm thriller roars to life. The Ride include Jurassic Park where when the boat plunge into total darkness from the height of 25.9 meter, strap down onto the water causing an impact so great that the water splashed up and covered us at the end of the ride, we were wet all over. Later we proceed to The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, Back to The Future, ET Adventure, Dinosaur “Alive”, Jaws which is a voyage into shark-infested waters and much more. Later, we got our hand stamped for re-entry with invisible Studio’s mark at the exit point, to have our dinner at Hard Rock Café and re-enter to USJ again to catch the last minute 4D ride and other program.
Dinner at Hard Rock
Universal Studio
After breakfast the next morning, we head to Nara to visit the famous deer park, the Todaiji Temple, the Daibutsuden, where the world largest wooden structure of the Great Buddha is housed. Later we went to Osaka Castle Park which served as the landmark in the unification of Japan during the 16th century built by Hideyoshi Toyotomi who succeeded in unifying the entire nation. We bought the admission ticket, 600 JPY/pax through the vending machine for admission into the Osaka Castle museum for history at a glace and also to have a magnificient panoramic view of the whole Osaka City on the 8th Floor. After the museum visit, we went for shopping at Motomachi Street. In Nara, we did visit the Sake Breweries to have some general idea on how sake wine is made.  We also tasted several different types sake (Japanese rice wine). After this, we visited the Nankin-machi, one of the 3 biggest China town in Japan, there are lots of food arcade along both side of the streets.

The next destination was to Kobe known as the Romantic city of Japan. We stopped by Kobe Port which is the landmark of Kobe City to take a look around and take photos. We then decided to take the 45 mins sea-bus cruise round the Kobe Port. The ticket cost for 1200 JPY/pax . It is a worthy ride after all. During the night, we have our mix Oriental/Japanese Soya Steamboat buffet dinner on 33rd  Floor of “Tai Yo Ro” Restaurant. It was unfortunate that due to their miscommunication, reservation was not made. Some of us have to wait  as the restaurant which is quite crowded and we have to wait for others to finish before we can take their seats.  Here, we can also have the night view of the whole Osaka City. We departed back home the next following day by flight at the Kansai airport.

During this visit, I got a more throughout view of Japan sceneries, culture, lifestyle, and histories. It is no doubt that we often heard about a Japanese being able to surpass the age of 100 years due to their healthy lifestyle and in certain areas confined to the traditional teachings and methods. It was an awesome experience having to visit Japan again. It was all in and all out a wonderful and memorable experience which is indeed worth every single penny wasted. I would definitely encourage people to go to Japan, to expose themselves to everything from culture to histories and from there we can see how did Japan become so successful today after the World War II.

Japan (Narita and Tokyo)

Japan (Narita and Tokyo,)

My family and I were to visit Japan arranged by Komtar Tours & Travel agency. It was indeed a splendid and memorable trip whereby I would now like to share my traveling experience and perhaps give some insights about Japan and the various places that I have visited.

Our journey started when we left our home for Penang airport to board the Cathay Pacific Flight. We arrived in Narita Tokyo Airport via transit through Hong Kong airport. When we arrived in Narita, there was typhoon therefore causing the long queue at the immigration whereby all flights were delayed. Lucky us that we arrived surpassing the typhoon. We then check into the hotel upon arriving in Narita, International Garden Hotel.

The next day we went to Tokyo Disneyland. It was a full day fun in Tokyo Disneyland, with full day unlimited ride passport which offers 7 themed lands filled with fun and fantasy, adventure and excitement, and quaint reminders of bygone days. Everywhere you look, you will find that magical touch of Disney: from the exciting attractions and colorful entertainment on parade “moving on celebrating friendship & romance”. There are also taste-tempting menus for you to enjoy  and delightful shopping offering small & cute souvenirs like Disney jewelries, hair accessories, key holders and very interesting Disney cartoon container for Pop-corn. It is indeed a fun land for young children,  teenager and families. Nevertheless, we later departed to have our oriental course dinner and later stroll along Shinsaibashi Suji famous street for shopping.

After spending two nights, we then transfer to another hotel in Tokyo, Hotel Villa Fontaine ROPPONGI ANNEX for another two nights stay. We had breakfast which is provided by the hotel and later proceed to the Imperial Palace, the home of the Japanese royal family, surrounded by high stone slabs, there also stood the elegant Nijubashi or Double Bridge.  The palace was formerly Edo Castle. We then proceed to visit the oldest Buddhist temple in Japan, the Sensoji Temple or also known as Asakusa Kannon Temple which means “Goddess of Mercy”, built and completed in 645 AD. Near the temple area there were many small souvenirs shop at the long & narrow Nakamise Avenue (Tokyo)  where one can also do their shopping there. We later proceed to Ginza district which is at the heart of Tokyo and the most exclusive and expensive shopping area in Japan. The next day, we visited Tokyo Odaiba Palette Town which is a reclaimed land known as the most popular leisure destination in Tokyo. We sailed on cruise and tour of Tokyo in a Water-bus, we managed to view a beautiful hanging bridge the “Rainbow Bridge”  which is built in the Tokyo Bay area. Venus Fort on the other hand is a classic European indoor shopping mall & Mega Web Toyota City Showcase, where we get to see the display all the latest models of the Toyota brand new cars.

We have already spend 5days in Japan, and there is still much more to it. On day 5, we check out and check into another hotel in another area, the Kai Resort Hotel. All of us are instructed to change into Yukata (Japanese Night gown) from the hotel room for our dinner at around 7:00 pm. It's my first time to experience hot spring bath or communal bath which is called “Onsen”. We were advised to wash clean before soaking into the pool of water. There are several mini showers and low stools for us to sit on next to the pool side when we do our washing. It was one of my memorable experience as well.

Indeed you must be wondering how do we take or where do we take our breakfast, lunch and dinner or even supper. As you can see, we have visited various places whereby you can find any shopping complexes or open air shopping area. This places are the easiest to find various kind of food that suit to one's liking. We usually had our meals either prepared by the hotel or nearby places when we are visiting those various places. It is never difficult to find food around Japan.

The experience with family member in Japan (Narita and Tokyo) was indeed memorable with lots of laughing and fun throughout the trip. I must say that Japan is one of the best country I have visited whereby everywhere i go, it is all around technology integrated and the people are indeed very polite and nice. The only hard part is where we had difficulties in communicating with the people there. Nevertheless, most of them are quite affluent with basic english. Thus, language still does not serve as a barrier for us to explore and get to know their culture and lifestyle. There are still various cities and places that we have visited in which i will reserved it in another post.
Here are a list of places we stayed, shopped and some special highlights of the places we have visited.

It is also a place where one can not only bond with nature but the activities help strengthen the relationship that one has, be it family, friends or lovers .  Therefore, I would surely recommend this place for others to visit. It might be a little costly, but it is indeed worthy of every single penny to indulge in nature with family, friends or lover. It can be a romantic gateway for newly weds too.

Here are some of the reviews provided by the guests :-

"The services that they gave were top notch, always willing to fetch us around the compound with their golf car even when we're just 50 steps away. We turn off the aircond in the morning and after room service, they turn it on again. This is really superb because most resort will ask you to switch it off when not in used."(Kuala Lumpur)

"We found this place is carefully design and taking care to the small detail. We had a really good time there and expect to return to Scenery again." (Pathum Thani, Thailand)

"We made advanced reservation in 4 months. And it was worth the wait! We were very impressed with our arrival experience as staffs were very genuine and caring. They approached us with smiles right after we parked our car. Our accommodation was a big WOW. We stayed at Napier and loved every single detail in the room. The living area, the bed, the bath, and the deck, they were all perfect." (Pattaya, Thailand)
